TDP will announce Lok Sabha, Assembly poll candidates soon: Chandrababu Naidu

Amaravati, Feb 18 (UNI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party National president N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the TDP candidates to contest in the ensuing Lok Sabha and Assembly elections would be announced shortly.

Addressing party leaders through teleconference here on Monday, he said that the process has begun to select winnable candidates after eliciting opinions of senior leaders through the IVRS system.

Naidu claimed that the Backward Caste communities are supporting the TDP and its Jayaho BC meeting  organised on December 30, last year was a big success.

Clearly understanding that the BCs will support the TDP, YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke with frustration in the party's  BC Garjana meeting, organised on Sunday, Naidu said.

Referring to Reddy's assurance to accord statutory status to the BC sub-plan, he said that the TDP led government had already done it.

The YSRCP president's assurance  to accord statutory status in the BC meeting is reflecting his poor knowledge, he said
