Tata Capital's 'Journey of Doing Right' uses story-telling to bring focus on Child Rights

The initiative, which in its first phase identified the Top Five challenges facing the country in the India4India survey, now is highlighting the story of Child Rights, one of the identified five challenges.

 

Viewed from the eyes of the children of Shikhangram – a NGO which helps provide shelter to about 112 street children,  the story raises public consciousness about Child Rights as an issue. 

 

The shelter, founded by Yogita & Satish Moon, two individuals who themselves were abandoned on the street to fend for themselves, is currently facing financial difficulties. The Do Right initiative (‘www.doright.in) presents a platform for India to give the children of Shikshangram a chance to grow up in a whole new light, by donating funds to install Solar panels across the premises of Shikshangram providing them a permanent solution to the issue of electricity and making them self-reliant.

Violation of Child Rights has emerged to be as one of the biggest challenges facing our nation, with 11.19% votes in the Tata Capital India4India Survey. In its mission to highlight the top 5 challenges affecting the nation that emerged from the survey, Tata Capital has embarked on this ‘Journey of Doing Right’ to help raise awareness and also identify stories that India can help complete. By providing a platform, Tata Capital wants to urge people to go beyond and help the people who may be facing these challenges on an everyday basis and do the right thing.
