Chennai, Feb 16 (IBNS) : As the political situation in Tamil Nadu takes a new turn, Governor C Vidyasagar Rao has called for a meeting with Elappadi Palanisamy, for the post of the Chief Minister, NDTV reported.

Palanisamy was handpicked by VK Sasikala, whose run for the post of Chief Minister was dashed by a court order sentencing her to imprisonment.

The Governor is expected to decide by Thursday afternoon who will take oath as Tamil Nadu's next Chief Minister.

The swearing in ceremony could be held in the  evening and a floor test to prove majority is supposed to take place within three days.
