Tamil Nadu counting progresses: DMK takes early lead in 19 seats, BJP leads in 2

Chennai/IBNS:  Counting has commenced in Tamil Nadu’s urban constituencies of Madurai, Coimbatore, Sriperumbudur, and Chennai which will play a crucial role in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 results.

As per early trends, DMK is leading in 19 seats, Congress in 7 seats, while the BJP is leading in 2 and AIADMK in 3 seats of the total 39 seats.

Tamil Nadu’s urban voters have raised concerns over the implementation of infrastructure in the past like executing smart city projects, highway-widening projects, and urban water planning projects and have sought solutions for flooding and water shortage woes.

India Today-Axis My India's exit polls projected a close contest in Coimbatore, with a slight edge for DMK's Ganapathi P Rajkumar. However, Annamalai, also known as Singham, is currently trailing now.

This time the Tamil Nadu unit of the BJP was looking for a giant leap in its voter share coupled with the highest number of Lok Sabha seats in the southern state, if the Exit Poll projections by most agencies hold true.
