Mumbai/IBNS: Indian actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, who were arrested over drug charges in connection with the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, have been denied bail by the Mumbai Sessions Court.

Chakraborty is likely to move the High Court on Monday.

Apart from the two, three others including Rajput's house manager Samuel Miranda and house helper Dipesh Sawant, who were also arrested, have been denied bail.

Chakraborty was on Tuesday arrested in Mumbai by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after three days of questioning by the agency in connection with the drug-related allegation surrounding the death of her boyfriend Rajput.

The actress, who was a live-in partner of Rajput, has been charged with organizing drugs for the late Bollywood star who was reportedly under mental depression.

Though NCB sources told the media that Chakraborty had accepted that she had consumed drugs, the actress had earlier in a television interview denied such an act in her life.

NCB is the third central agency to join the probe into the death of Sushant, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The NCB got into action after the ED came across WhatsApp chats pertaining to drug consumption, procurement, usage and transportation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

Rajput was found dead at his own flat in Mumbai's Bandra on Jun 14.

While a section of social media users are crying for justice for Rajput, several netizens have slammed the alleged vilification of Chakraborty and the media trials.
