New Delhi, Feb 22 (IBNS) : Clashes broke out among rival groups of students outside Delhi's Ramjas college on Wednesday over cancellation of a seminar where controversial JNU student leader Umar Khalid was invited, reports said.

One person was stated to be injured in the incident as police swung into action to bring the situation under control.

Students from the college were supposed to march to Maurice Nagar police station, demanding action against the ABVP, the student wing of the BJP, which allegedly had forced cancellation of the programme.

According to reports, the agitating students, said to be belonging to the All India Students' Association (AISA),a Left body, were  allegedly stopped by ABVP members and a fight broke out.

On Tuesday, a seminar at Ramjas College was cancelled after ABVP members protested against the participation of Jawaharlal Nehru University students Umar Khalid  and Shehla Rashid Shora.

The ABVP dubbed Khalid 'anti-national.'

A sedition case was slapped on Khalid Umar and  Kanhaiya Kumar a years ago in connection with an event organised at JNU on Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.
