Speeding bus rams into milk tanker on Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, 18 die

A double-decker bus hit a milk tanker on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao region on Wednesday which left at least 18 people dead, media reports said.

The mishap also left 19 people hurt.

The bus was travelling from Motihari in Bihar to Delhi, Unnao District Magistrate Gaurang Rathi told India Today.

The injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The condition of three injured people is reportedly said to be critical.

The identities of the deceased people are not known.

Local authorities rushed to the spot to launch a rescue operation.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the loss of lives in the tragedy.
