Sopore killings: Jaish-e-Muhammad claims to identify killers
Srinagar, June 19 (IBNS): Banned Militant outfit Jaish-e-Muhammad claimed that they have identified the persons responsible for the killings of former militants in the Sopore town of North Kashmir.
“Both locals and non-locals sponsored by Indian agencies whom we have identified are responsible for these target killings in Sopore," a spokesperson of the outfit told media.
From June 9 to 15, unidentified gunmen shot dead four unarmed civilians in different areas of Sopore town.
On June 9, unidentified gunmen shot dead a pharmacist and an activist of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Sheikh Altaf of Iqbal Nagar Sopore at New Colony Sopore. Separatists and the family blamed Indian secret agencies for the killing.
On June 12 again, unidentified gunmen shot dead a shopkeeper and Hurriyat G activist Khurshid Ahmed Bhat at Bomai Sopore.
On June 14, unknown gunmen shot dead former militant Mehrajuddin Dar at Badambagh Sopore while on June 15, unidentified gunmen shot dead former militant Ajaz Ahmed Reshi at Mundji Sopore.
The outfit reportedly claimed that, “These killers have now got exposed and Jaish-e-Muhammad will not spare them. The only motive of these killers who work for the Indian agencies is to assassinate the freedom loving people and we won’t allow them to function freely,”.
