Smriti Irani becomes voter of UP's Amethi

Ameth/IBNS/UNI: Union Minister Smriti Irani has become a voter of Uttar Pradesh's Amethi parliamentary constituency and will exercise her franchise for the first time from here in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Smriti had recently built her house in Medan Mavai village of Gauriganj and her name has been registered in the voter list at the same address. She applied for enrollment in the voter list at the address of her newly constructed house.

Union Minister's representative Vijay Gupta said that the Union Minister and local MP considers Amethi as her family and she has built her residence here to live among the family. He said with the construction of the house, she also started the process of getting registered as a voter from Amethi.

He said that with the completion of the formalities, she has become a voter of booth number 347 of Medan Mawai village of Gauriganj assembly constituency of Amethi parliamentary constituency.

Expressing happiness about becoming a voter from Amethi, Smriti termed it as a big achievement of her life and expressed confidence that this will further strengthen her relations in Amethi.

Voting in Amethi will be held in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha polls on May 20.
