Kolkata, Aug 27 (IBNS): A local court in Kolkata on Thursday granted five-day transit remand of Sanjeev Khanna, the first husband of ex-Star India Chief Peter Mukerjea's wife Indrani Mukerjea, to the Mumbai Police earlier in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case.

The Mumbai Police had arrested him from Kolkata on Wednesday.

The arrest was made after almost three hours of questioning.

Sanjeev Khanna was produced in the Alipore Court on Thursday morning and his defence lawyers pleaded  for their client's bail.

However, the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) Rajesh Chakraborty granted transit remand of Sanjeev Khanna to the police.

He will be taken to Mumbai and will be produced to the Bandra Additional CJM Court before Sept 1.
