Sensex jumps by 450 points

Mumbai, Aug 27 (IBNS) BSE Sensex and Nifty were sharply higher on Thursday, tracking gains in global markets.

 Looking up after days of  fluctuations and uncertainty the Sensex rose as much as 455 points at its day's high of 26,170.39 while Nifty hit 7,930.80 after stock market opened for transaction.

The rupee also traded higher, lifting the sentiment.
