Security forces recover huge cache of arms-ammunition in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district

Guwahati/IBNS: Security forces have recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.

Based on intelligence input, the troops of Assam Rifles and Tengnoupal district police jointly launched operation at Karongthel Khunou area and recovered the arms and ammunition which were kept hide in the area.

Superintendent of Police of Tengnoupal district Th. Vikramjit Singh said that, the operation was launched on Wednesday and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition from the area.

Security forces had recovered one SLR (762 mm Cal), one SLR magazine with 10 rounds, one 303 Bolt Action Rifle, one 303 Bolt Action Rifle magazine, three 32 mm pistol, three 32 mm pistol magazine, one magazine (COLT AR-15, cal 5.56 mm) (USA), one magazine (COLT AR-15, cal. 223) (USA), 843 rounds ammunition of 9 mm cal Luger (USA), 2874 rounds of 5.56 mm cal (M- 16), 75 rounds of 70 mm cal (12 bore 16 rounds and 01 fired case (9 mm cal), 17 rounds of 7.62 mm cal, 70 rounds of 30 mm cal, 13 rounds of 7.65 mm cal.

The seized arms and ammunition were handed over to Tengnoupal police station for further legal action.
