Security forces nab two Adivasi extremists with huge cache of arms-ammu in Assam’s Kokrajhar

Guwahati: Security forces have apprehended two Adivasi extremists and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam’s Kokrajhar district on Friday night, officials said on Saturday.

According to the reports, based on intelligence input, the Kokrajhar district police, Commando battalion 210 Cobra had jointly launched an operation in Lungsung area along the Indo-Bhutan border last night and nabbed two Adivasi militants.

The nabbed militants were identified as 45-year-old Pudan Murmu and 24-year-old Bajun Murmu.

A top official of Kokrajhar district police said that, Pudan Murmu hails from Kejhorna village and Bajun Murmu hails from Superguri village in Kokrajhar district.

Security personnel have recovered two AK-series rifles, two AK magazines, a muzzle loading gun, five rounds AK ammunition and 637 rounds point 30 M1 ammunition in possession from them.

Meanwhile, Kokrajhar district police has registered a case.
