Seated on Badruddin Ajmal’s lap, Congress shamelessly talks about secularism: Amit Shah

Guwahati/IBNS: Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah on Monday launched a scathing attack on Congress and said that the Congress shamelessly talks about secularism while the party sits on the laps of Badruddin Ajmal.

"The Congress party has seated on Bdruddin Ajmal’s laps in Assam, in Kerala they seated with Muslim League and Furfura Sharif in Bengal and they talking about secularism. I don’t know what type of this secularism," Shah said.

After launching BJP’s social media campaign ‘Selfiewithdevelopment’for Assam assembly polls, the Union Home Minister said during an interaction programme with the saffron party’s social media warriors in Guwahati that, Congress and Badruddin Ajmal can’t protect Assamese culture.

"If these people come to power, there will be infiltration again, which will trample the culture of Assam under their feet. Preservation of Assamese culture is important for the BJP and NDA alliance," Shah said.

Shah further said that Assam had earlier witnessed andolan, violence, corruption, infiltration, militancy and many more problems.

Shah said, "Many of our youths died in movements in Assam. Those who talk about ‘Assam ki Asmita’, will they be able to stop infiltration. If you weren't able to stop the infiltration, will you be able to save Assam’s identity, heritage? Sitting on Ajmal’s lap, do you not feel ashamed to talk about saving Assam’s identity, heritage. Earlier there was no limit of corruption in Assam.

"But in the last five years, the opposition didn’t find any corruption charges against our government. Within 5 years, the BJP has done the work of ‘Andolan Mukt’ Assam and has started the path of development. We promised to free Assam from intruders. Now infiltrators think many times before infiltrating Assam."

He also said that Congress only did the politics of dynastic politics and under the policy of break and rule and they worked to create a fight among the people so that they could rule here.

"Under the leadership of Modi, the BJP government ended all the conflicts and paved the way for peace in Assam in the last five years. In Assam, the NDA has decided to contest elections on the basis of five pillars – security and respect, culture and civilization, prosperity and connection,  peace and dialogue and self-reliance. Based on these five pillars, we will work to take Assam forward in future,” Shah said.

He also said that, if you think deeply, this election will become an election to take you, me and the people of Assam to a certain goal, which will fulfill the dream of golden Assam.
