Kolkata/IBNS: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday served a notice to former Rajya Sabha MP and Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate in Jorasanko assembly seat for the forthcoming West Bengal election, Vivek Gupta, in connection with its ongoing probe into Saradha chit fund scam, officials said.

According to sources in the Central agency, Vivek Gupta, the CMD and chief group editor of Eastern India's leading Hindi daily Sanmarg, has been asked to appear before the investigators at ED's Salt Lake office on Monday (Mar 22).

"Newspapers belonged to Saradha group were printed from Vivek Gupta owned printing press and Gupta has been summoned to verify all the deals and transactions happened between him and Saradha group during that period," an ED official said.

Earlier, Vivek Gupta was quizzed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the same case.
