Sandip Joshi becomes new Nagpur Mayor

Nagpur, Nov 22 (UNI) Sandeep Joshi, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) corporator on Friday emerged as Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) new mayor, securing 104 votes.

BJP's Manisha Kothe was elected as deputy mayor.

Congress and BSP also had fielded their candidates for Mayor post but Sandeep Joshi scored an easy win.

Congress candidate Harshala Sable secured 26 votes while BSP candidate Mohammad Ibrahim Tohfiq managed to rope in 10 votes.

BJP’s Manisha Kothe bagged 104 votes while NCP’s Duneshwar Pethe got 26 votes and Mangala Lanjewar of BSP garnered just 10 votes.
