Rs. 15 lakhs in each account will happen: Ramdas Athawale

New Delhi, Dec 19 (IBNS): Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has said that Rs 15 lakhs will be added to the accounts of every Indians, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi 2014 over his black money comment, slowly.

Athawale said the amount will not reach the accounts at one go.

"15 lakh rupees will come slowly, not all at once. The government does not have so much money. The RBI (Reserve Bank of India) was asked for money but they are not giving. So the amount cannot be collected. An assurance was given but there are some technical issues,"  the Minister was quoted as saying by NDTV.

During his campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls in 2014, Modi, who was then serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, had said that the volume of black or untaxed money stashed in banks abroad was such that if it could be brought back to Indian then every citizen in the nation could get Rs. 15 lakhs in their bank accounts.

The opposition leaders have often targeted Modi over this remark.
