New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday distributed 51,000 appointment letters to the newly appointees in government sectors under the Rozgar Mela.

Modi virtually attended the Rozgar Mela, the recruitment mission under which lakhs of youth are appointed by the States and Union Territories every month.

Speaking at the event, Modi said, "In the last few years, we have made many major changes in the recruitment process of paramilitary forces. The process from application to selection has been expedited.

"The examination for recruitment in paramilitary forces is now being conducted in 13 local languages also."

"Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana was launched 9 years ago on this day. This scheme has played a huge role in the economic empowerment of the village and the poor as well as in employment generation," the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister claimed the pharma and automobile industries are set to grow in the coming days.

In his address, Modi made a special mention of Uttar Pradesh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state which locates the Prime Minister's parliamentary constituency Varanasi.

"Once upon a time, UP was far behind in terms of development and far ahead in terms of crime... But now with the establishment of the rule of law, UP is touching new heights of development," Modi said.
