Robbery in Axis bank in rural Gandhinagar, looters fire gun shots

Gandhinagar, Feb 16 (UNI): In a sensational bank loot incident- part of which has also been captured on CCTV cameras, three unidentified robbers looted Rs 43.28 lakh from a private bank in Chhatral GIDC area under Kalol Taluka of Gandhinagar district.

The looters who had wrapped cloths around their faces also injured a bank employee with gun-shot that hit him in one of his legs and also snatched the gold-chain of a lady employee.

Police said that the looters entered the Axis bank branch. While they were committing the loot at gun-point, a bank employee identified as Deep Patel who had gone to washroom returned and the apprehensive looters fired a gun shot at him. He has been hospitalized.

The borders of the area around has been sealed and attempts to nab them was on.
