Retired soldier accused of being illegal migrant
The case will be heard by the foreigners' tribunal on Oct 13.
Mohd Azmal Haque, who lives in Chayyagaon in Assam, retired as a Junior Commissioned Officer last year.
Speaking to NDTV channel, he said, "I am very sad, I cried a lot. My soul is broken... After 30 years of service I have to face such insult. If I were an illegal Bangladeshi, how could I serve the Indian army?"
He said that before joining the Indian Army police verification is mandatory, which was done in his case as well.
