Guwahati, Nov 18 (IBNS): Army’s Red Horns Division on Sunday flagged off a National Integration Tour for 20 students of Baksa and Nalbari districts of Assam, aimed at exposing the youth of the state to the various facets of life and give them a glimpse of the various opportunities.

The tour was officially flagged off in a formal ceremony held at Rangiya Military Station by the GOC Red Horns Division

The idea behind the tour is to educate, motivate and empower the youth to make informed decisions in life and consequently take a small but concrete step towards social empowerment.

The opportunity is also aimed to provide exposure to these youths to a different part of India and subsequently, motivate them to join the Indian Army and various government organizations.

20 students comprising of 10 girls and 10 boys have been selected after due diligence in consultation with school authorities and teachers from schools adopted by Indian Army.

The students are in  aged between 14 and 16 and are in the prime impressionable age to make an impact.

The group will visit different corporate, government and tourist places of importance during the duration of the tour. The group will also be interacting with dignitaries from both military and civilian administrative setups.

The tour shall take these students to Mumbai and Pune for 14 days. The tour will significantly enlighten them regarding the social, cultural and economic diversity of the nation and will enrich their knowledge through experience.

Through this project we hope to bring about a positive change in the lives of these students and their families by giving them a significant opportunity to make an informed decision based on this experience and explore the myriad avenues hitherto unknown.
