Barmer, Jun 22 (UNI) Two minor siblings drowned in a pond in Thoombli village of this district of Rajasthan on Saturday.

According to reports, construction work was going on in one Vir Singh's home, for which, a pond was dug.

Three siblings-- Swaroop Singh (6), Swai Singh (7) and Khusbu (8)-- were playing near the pond when Swaroop and Khusbu accidentally fell into it.

On seeing his siblings drown, Swai too jumped into the pond to rescue them. Some villagers who were present there, rushed to the pond and pulled them out of the water.

The three children were rushed to Bhandka hospital where Swaroop and Khusbu succumbed, while Swai survived and was shifted to the Badmer's hospital.

The children had come to their maternal home during their summer vacation.
