Bharatpur (Rajasthan)/IBNS: A heated argument between two friends led to the death of three brothers and left two other people with grievous injuries after one of them opened fire in Rajasthan's Bharatpur district, media reports said.

The incident happened in the Kumher police station area where a person identified as Lakhan Singh shot bullets at his friend Tony’s family members after the two had a fight over a drink, India Today reported.

Infuriated Lakhan Singh and his associates then barged into Tony’s house and sprayed bullets at his friend's family, police said.

Three people Gajendra, Samandar and Ishwar died on the spot while three others, including a woman, received injuries, police said, according to the report.

The injured victims were rushed to the local community centre, but later referred to Jaipur after their condition worsened.

Tony, son of deceased Gajendra, and accused Lakhan Singh were friends and their houses were located next to each other.

The deceased Gajendra was posted in Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC) and one of the victims was posted as a police constable.

According to preliminary information, Lakhan Singh is a wanted criminal and has many complaints registered against him, according to the India Today report. Singh and his family members are on the run and police are trying to nab them.

A huge police force has been deployed in the area as tension gripped the locality following the killings.
