Kolar/UNI: In his first rally after his disqualification as a member of Parliament, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Karnataka on April 5 to campaign in Kolar ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

This was confirmed by senior Congress leader and Devanahalli candidate KH Muniyappa on Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons here, Muniyappa criticised BJP for Rahul Gandhi's disqualification alleging that the Speaker had disqualified the former AICC president even before he received the court order.

"BJP is doing such a thing for political reasons. Through a new judge, they have got this verdict against Rahul Gandhi," he alleged.

Gandhi will speak about it during the rally. He made the controversial "Modi community" comment during the 2019 campaign in Kolar, Muniyappa said.

Prior to this, Gandhi had campaigned in Belagavi on March 20 and released the fourth poll promise of the party.

The Gandhi scion had announced 'Yuva Nidhi' scheme guaranteeing Rs 3,000 for unemployed graduate youths and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders per month.

The Congress party has already released the 124-candidate list a couple of days back.
