Patna, Jul 7 (UNI) In his first visit to Bihar after crushing defeat of the party in Lok Sabha elections, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said he would continue to raise the voice of poor, labourers and farmers with renewed vigour.

Gandhi, who had arrived to appear before a local court in connection with a defamation case, told media persons here that he would continue to raise the voice of common man particularly labourers

and poor. For the same reason of fighting for their cause, he arrived here to appear in the court, he remarked while responding to queries of media persons.

The Congress leader parried a question about reasons behind his resignation as Congress president, saying one should read details on his twitter account. On charges levelled against him in the defamation case, he said that all the charges were baseless and wrong and he also informed the court about the same.

Gandhi who appeared cheerful during his visit to Patna also enjoyed the South Indian dish 'Masala Dosa' in a local restaurant while returning to Airport after appearing in Court in connection with the case.

Senior BJP leader and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had lodged a defamation case against Mr Gandhi in a local court alleging that he had hurt the sentiments and also defamed all those having surname of Modi in an election speech in Bengaluru during Lok Sabha elections held recently.

Gandhi while targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for alleged irregularities of crores of rupees in Rafale fighter plane deal, had expressed his surprise why all big names figuring in corruption case involving crores of rupees had surnames of Modi. He had also listed the names of Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi to prove his charges.

Gandhi was granted bail by the local court after he appeared before it in connection with the defamation case. Mr Gandhi had denied all the charges against him in the court saying it was an attempt to harass him.
