Rahul Gandhi pays tribute to late women activist Savitribai Phule on her death anniversary

New Delhi, Mar 10 (IBNS) Congress Vice- President Rahul Gandhi on Thursday paid his tribute to late women activist, social reformer and poet Savitribai Phule.

A tweet from Gandhi's office read, "On her death Anniversary, Savitribai Phule ji's contribution towards society, women empowerment and justice will always be remembered."

Phule, along with her husband Jyotirao Phule, were social reformers in pre-independent India.

She died in 1897.
