Moga/UNI: Two NRIs, who returned from Kuwait four days back and were quarantined at Janair Hospital, had tested positive for Novel Coronavirus.

According to Civil Surgeon Andesh Kang, the Health department received reports from Faridkot Medical College and Hospital laboratory on Thursday evening that both tested positive for COVID-19.

Both were immediately taken to Baghapurana and admitted in community health centre there.

Dr Kang said this was the first instance of NRIs being infected with Coronavirus in the district. One of them belonged to Bhinder Kalan village, while the other hailed from Boude village.

Out of the total 78 NRI samples taken from the district, 54 were found negative, while reports of the remaining were awaited, he added.
