Punjab: Police arrests foreign national woman peddler

Phagwara/UNI: In a significant success the phagwara police have arrested one foreign national woman peddler identified as Presious resident of Nigerian city Bemumba presently residing in Bihar and recovered five kg heroin worth Rs 25 Crores (international market Rate) and cash of merely Rs 1200/- at Phagwara on Saturday.

Addressing a news conference here on Saturday Senior Superintendent of Police Kapurthala Satinder Singh told that the the accused was working as courier of another accused identified as Mike residing in Delhi.

SSP said the accused peddler brought the consignment from Delhi and going to deliver in various parts of the state.

SSP said the accused was waiting for a bus near village Saprod when a police party led by SP Manpreet Singh Dhillon nabbed her and recovered 5kg of heroin kept in a dirty bag.

SSP told that the arrested accused woman peddler was produced before local judicial magistrate who sent her in police remand for five days for further interrogation.


Several more disclosure are expected during interrogations, said SSP.
