Puducherry Aam Aadmi Party President joins BJP

Puducherry, Jun 6 (UNI): Dr Rangarajan, state president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with his supporters joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Thursday evening.

Rangarajan and 75 of his supporters joined the BJP in the presence of BJP state president V Saminathan MLA (nominated).

Referring to the New Water Ministry- 'Jal Shakti', Rangarajan said that attracted by the announcement of the merger of rivers programme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to be a member of a party without any corruptions, he joined the BJP.

He also said that the allegations of corruptions against the BJP are baseless.

Saminathan told media that the Chief Minister V Narayansamy's idea to scrap NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) in Puducherry is nothing more than a political drama.

"Although NEET was introduced by Congress, it was implemented by the Bharatiya Janta Party," he said.

Expressing grief over a girl's suicide on failing the national medical test, he said, "The suicide by students cannot be accepted. Proper coaching centres need to be established in Puducherry for the students to prepare for the competitive exam well could be a solution to the suicides by students."
