Ajmer/IBNS: A cleric of Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan was Wednesday arrested for allegedly making a provocative comment on suspended Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Nupur Sharma, whose remark on Prophet Muhammad stoked a massive controversy, media reports said.

The cleric allegedly offered in a video his house to anyone who would behead Sharma.

In the video, which India Blooms didn't verify independently, the cleric allegedly said he would have shot Sharma to death for insulting the Prophet.

Sharma's controversial comment on Prophet Mohammad has drawn fury from the Muslims community members across the country.

Violent protests against the comment took place in different corners of the country last month.

Trains and buses were vandalised, torched disrupting road and railway traffic across the country following the Gulf countries' strong objection to Sharma's comment.
