Probe report says police had fired in self-defence on Mandsaur farmer protest
Bhopal, June 19 (IBNS) A probe report has said that police had fired in self-defense last year in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, killing several protesting farmers, according to media reports.
The Madhya Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had appointed Justice J.K. Jain (retired) to head a one-member judicial commission into the June 6, 2017 police firing in Mandsaur that left five farmers dead.
Congress leaders, including president Rahul Gandhi, had led protests following the tragedy.
