New Delhi, Mar 13 (IBNS): Congress General Secretary for UP (East) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra met Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar in a hospital on Wednesday.

Azad is undergoing treatment in a hospital.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Priyanka Gandhi said it was a solidarity visit.

"I liked his energy," Priyanka Gandhi said.

Azad was detained on Tuesday after he allegedly violated the model code of conduct by using more than stipulated number of motorcycles in a political rally, reports said.
Azad was arrested from Deoband in Uttar Pradesh, triggering a standoff between the police and his supporters on Tuesday.

As per CNN News 18 report, as per initial reports, the Dalit leader wanted to leave for Delhi to attend events on Kanshi Ram’s birth anniversary on March 15, but was denied permission for the same.

Azad had recently announced that his outfit will support the candidate who will stand against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Lok Sabha polls.
