President Pranab Mukherjee condoles passing away of Rabi Ray

New Delhi, Mar 7 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday condoled the passing away of veteran Socialist leader and eminent Parliamentarian Rabi Ray.

In a condolence message to his wife, Saraswati Swain, the President has said, “I am sad to learn about the passing away of your husband, Shri Rabi Ray."

"A freedom fighter, veteran Socialist leader and eminent Parliamentarian, Shri Ray served the nation in various capacities including as Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare and Speaker of the Lok Sabha. In his death, the nation has lost a leader who was always in touch with the grassroots of society," he said.

Mukherjee said: "Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I pray to the Almighty to give you and all members of your family the strength to bear this irreparable loss”.
