Pranab Mukherjee wishes Bangladesh on National Day eve

New Delhi, Mar 25 (IBNS): President Pranab Mukherjee on Saturday extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on the eve of their National Day.

In a message to Md. Abdul Hamid, the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the President has said, “On behalf of the Government, the people of India and on my own behalf, it is with immense pleasure that I extend warm greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of your National Day."

"It is a matter of satisfaction that the close relations between India and Bangladesh have substantially expanded in recent years. We have succeeded in enhancing and intensifying our co-operation in areas of our shared interest. I am confident that our joint efforts will contribute to the realisation of the aspirations of our respective peoples," he said.

He said: "Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Bangladesh."
