Puducherry/UNI: Two 17 year-old boys were feared to have drowned in the sea late on Friday evening in Puducherry.

Iyyanaar along with his friends Ashwin, Sabarinathan and Harish had come to the Veerampattinam beach on their two-wheelers, according to police.

Iyyanaar and Ashwin went for a sea bath and the other two preferred to sit on the sand.

As the two were taking their bath, a huge wave dragged Iyyanaar and Ashwin into the deep sea.

Their friends shouted for help and the fishermen and people taking bath nearby tried to save them.

Coast Guard personnel also swung into action and the search for the duo throughout the night but it was all in vain.

Ariyankuppam police registered a case.
