Police seize 11 kg of ganja from passenger bus in Assam’s Karimganj

Guwahati: Karimganj district police of Assam seized 11 kg of ganja from a passenger bus and apprehended a person along Assam-Tripura border on Tuesday night.

Acting on a tip-off, police set up a Naka checking at Churaibari area in Karimganj district along Assam-Tripura border and intercepted a passenger bus bearing registration number ML-05S-9432

During search, the police team recovered 11 kg of ganja from the bus and apprehended a person identified as Lodhan Bhokta hailing from Jharkhand.

A police official said that the bus was coming from Agartala in Tripura.

“During checking, we found a red colour bag and also found the owner of the bag. During interrogation he revealed that, some ganja were also kept hide in backside of the bus. We have also found three more packets of ganja and apprehended the person,” the police official said.
