Police nab trouble monger for sharing communally sensitive content on social media in Kishtwar

Jammu/UNI: Police have arrested one person for allegedly sharing communally sensitive content on social media in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Police said that a video was in circulation on social media showing few persons slaughtering a bovine animal. "Considering the sensitivity of the video clip with communal harmony in the area, cognizance was taken and a case was registered at Police Station Kishtwar," they said.

Police said that the cyber cell of the District Police was activated, teams constituted and deputed for the arrest of accused person from Kangan, Ganderbal within two hours and other legal proceedings are underway.

"After preliminary investigation, it surfaced that the video was shot in District Ganderbal and the accused has updated the video as his whatsapp status on his mobile number," police added.

Furthermore, the miscreants are warned not to circulate any content to disturb peace and communal harmony of the area otherwise action under law shall be initiated against them, they said.
