PM Narendra Modi holds COVID-19 meeting with CMs via video conference

New Delhi/IBNS: The crucial meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Ministers of different states over the issue of COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown imposed to control its spread has begun.

The meeting is taking place via video conferencing.

This is the fifth meeting between PM and CMs over the issue.

The meeting is believed to be centering around a plan for life after May 17.

The third phase of the lockdown will end on May 17.

It was extended for the second term just ahead of the May 3 deadline was scheduled to end.

The meeting commenced at 3pm.

The lockdown was initially called by the Prime Minister on May 24 midnight.

The central government has already divided the country into three zones (red, orange and green zones) based on the number of Covid-19 cases.

While the red zone has the highest number of Covid cases, orange has several and green has no Coronavirus case.

Meanwhile, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday announced the resumption of passenger train services on May 12 with 15 pairs of special trains connecting New Delhi with major stations of the country.

The online booking for the train services will start at 4 pm on Monday.
