Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted people on Tuesday on the occasion of the Jagannath Puri Rath Yatra festival.

In a tweet, he said, ‘’ Ratha Yatra greetings to everyone. As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the divine journey of Lord Jagannath fill our lives with health, happiness and spiritual enrichment.'

On this day, Lord Jagannath, which also means ‘Lord of the Universe’, is taken out of the temple on beautiful chariots.

The holy festival is organised according to the Hindu calendar and takes place every year on the second day of the bright fortnight in the month of Ashadha.
