PM Narendra Modi chairs his seventh interaction through PRAGATI

New Delhi, Nov 4 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired his seventh interaction through PRAGATI - the ICT-based, multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation.

In course of his review today, the Prime Minister reviewed grievances related to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.

He directed that awareness campaigns be launched, especially through the medium of mobile phones, to educate people about the benefits available to them through the Jan Dhan Accounts.

The Prime Minister reviewed grievances relating to Railways, especially sanitation related issues, and was briefed on steps being taken to ensure cleanliness, both in Railway Stations, and on trains.

Modi reviewed the progress of fencing on the India-Bangladesh border. Asserting that there can be no compromise on an issue of national security, he asked the Chief Secretaries of all five States who share borders with Bangladesh, to work towards early completion of this project.

The Prime Minister sought updates on the progress of infrastructure projects in the highway, railway, power, coal and airport sectors spread over several States including Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Goa. He was briefed on the progress of three hydropower projects in Bhutan.

The Prime Minister reviewed the progress of Aadhar card enrolment.

He asked all Chief Secretaries to work towards providing benefits through the mechanisms of Jan Dhan Accounts and Aadhaar cards, to the extent possible, so that leakages are reduced, and people are benefited.
