PM Modi warns of possible Congress split, says it has become 'Muslim League Maoist Congress'
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, celebrating the NDA’s sweeping victory in Bihar, predicted a potential split in the Congress and issued a stark warning to its allies, including those in West Bengal.
Addressing BJP workers and supporters at the party headquarters in Delhi, he accused Congress of “negative politics” that divides people along religious and caste lines and called out the party for lacking a constructive vision for the country.

“The Congress criticizes the Election Commission, raises frivolous complaints about baseless issues like ‘vote chori’, and divides people on the basis of religion and caste. Today, Congress has become the Muslim League Maoist Congress,” Modi said, adding that a new, even more divisive faction is emerging within the party.
“The emergence of this section has created deep disappointment within Congress. I suspect there may be another big division in the future. Supporters are beginning to see that Congress is drowning everyone in its negative politics,” he added.

Observers say Modi’s remarks are also significant in the run-up to the West Bengal Assembly elections, where the BJP is trying to expand its influence against a fractured opposition, including the Congress and Trinamool Congress.
This comes after the NDA secured over 200 of the 243 seats in Bihar, with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party.
Modi lauded the party’s karyakartas for their role in the triumph, saying, “Your hopes are my pledge and your dreams are my inspiration. For the BJP, the party workers are its strength.”
