PM Modi sanctions ex-gratia relief for victims of Arunachal landslide
New Delhi, Apr 24 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday sanctioned ex- gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each for the next of kin of the persons deceased in the landslide in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
He also sanctioned Rs. 50,000 each to those seriously injured in the landslide from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
About 17 labourers were feared killed in a massive landslide triggered by incessant rains which hit their camp in Tawang on Friday morning.
The incident took place at Famala area, four km away from Tawang at around 3 AM.
The labourers hailed from Assam, who were engaged in the construction of a hotel in the area.
They hailed from Barpeta, Dhekiajuli, Balipara area of Assam.
