PM Modi remembers ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday remembered former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary.

"On his birth anniversary, we remember former PM Shri Rajiv Gandhi and recall his contribution to the nation," the Prime Minister said.

Rajiv Gandhi  was the 6th Prime Minister of India, serving from 1984 to 1989.

He took office after the 1984 assassination of his mother, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to become the youngest Indian Prime Minister at the age of 40.
