New Delhi, May 5 (IBNS): The Narendra Modi government has directed that 33 senior officials of the revenue department will have to take premature retirement owing to their poor performances, media reports said.

The action against the revenue officials has been taken as a part of several measures to change the officials' perception that their poor performance would not affect their job, NDTV quoted  a senior personnel ministry official.

About 72 officials have been dismissed following departmental and disciplinary action over two years.

All these 105 officers were Class 1 officers and are above 50 years in age.
