PM Modi gives call to protect environment by making idols from natural soil in ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme

New Delhi, Aug 28 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday gave a call to children and youth to use natural soil to carve out idols of Ganesh and Durga.

Addressing the people through the radio programme “Mann Ki Baat”,Modi gave the call to revive the old tradition and protect the environment, protect water bodies and also protect the tiny species living in water from pollution.

Modi said that celebrating an eco-friendly Ganeshotsav is also a work of social service.

Following Prime Minister’s call, idols of Ganesh are being made with natural soil across the country.

The workshop will continue in Bhopal till Sept 4.

Thousands of children from Amarkantak to Bharuch have been imparted training through the workshop.
