New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on winning the re-election and said he is confident that the bilateral ties and cooperation on global issues would continue to grow.

In a tweet, the PM said: “Congratulations @RTErdogan on re-election as the President of Türkiye! I am confident that our bilateral ties and cooperation on global issues will continue to grow in the coming times.”

President Erdogan won another five years in power in Turkiye's election.

Officials say he won 52.16% of the votes in a near-complete count in the run-off.

With his Sunday’s win, Erdogan extends his rule into a third decade.
