Petrol and diesel prices should be curbed: BSP chief Mayawati

| @indiablooms | Jan 08, 2021, at 08:44 pm

Lucknow/UNI: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Maywati has appealed to the Centre that in order to handle the economy of the country, there is a need to keep control on the prices of petrol and diesel.

In a tweet on Friday, Mayawati said, "The arbitrary increase in the prices of petrol and diesel, especially in the country, is creating a very worrying situation. It is better if oil prices are controlled and kept low to handle the people of the country suffering from the coronavirus epidemic and the poor economy of the country."

Notably, the continuous increase in the price of crude oil in the international market has affected the domestic market. Petrol and diesel prices continued to spike in December, while the prices of petrol and diesel increased in the last two days.

However on Friday, the government oil companies have not made any change in the prices of petrol and diesel.
