Patanjali to invest over Rs 5000 crore in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati, Feb 5 (IBNS) : Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali wants to invest over Rs 5000 crore in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.

It was revealed by Ramdev’s partner and Patanjali CEO Balakrishna during a crucial meeting with Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang and other officials at Diphu on Sunday.

KAAC CEM Tuliram Ronghang said that, Patanjali want to invest over Rs 5000 crore in Karbi Anglong to plant and properly utilize medicinal plants in the hill district.

“We are welcoming their wish and promise them to allot lands as their required,” Ronghang said.

On the other hand, KAAC Executive member Mangal Singh Timung said that, Karbi Anglong is a hub of medicinal plants and it is a positive move to utilize the medicinal plants of the district.

“We have decided to allot lands along Karbi Anglong-Nagalnd border ad Karbi Anglong-Meghalaya border for Patanjali’s project,” Timung said.

Balakrishna, who visited the hill district, will likely to visit the bordering areas tomorrow.

Earlier, Patanjali had announced to invest Rs 20,000 crore in Assam.
