New Delhi/UNI: Lok Sabha was adjourned till 4 pm on Monday amid Opposition ruckus over Adani issue and disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from the Lower House as a member.

Several Opposition parties have been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe into the Hindenburg Research report over Adani Group.

The Hindenburg Research report alleged that Adani Group had engaged in stock manipulation and accounting fraud schemes over the course of decades.

They also slammed the BJP-led government at the Centre after the former Congress president was disqualified from LS after he was convicted in a defamation case by a court in Gujarat's Surat last week for his alleged "all thieves have Modi surname" remarks at a rally in Karnataka’s Kolar in 2019.

As soon as the House assembled for the day, the MPs from Opposition trooped into the well and raised slogans demanding JPC probe into Adani issue, and disqualification of the former Congress chief.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla disapproved of their conduct and said, "I want to run the House with dignity."

He then adjourned the House till 4 pm.
