Srinagar, Jun 13 (UNI): Strongly condemning the Anantnag militant attack on Wednesday afternoon in which five CRPF personnel were killed, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Thursday said: “Ultras and their handlers across the border should know that our resolve to eliminate this menace is unshakable.”

Five CRPF personnel, including two assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), were martyred and another jawan and station house oOfficer (SHO) of local police station and a girl were injured in the attack by militants yesterday afternoon. A foreign militant was also killed in the retaliatory fire by security forces.

A statement issued by Raj Bhavan here today said that Mr Malik has expressed deep anguish over the loss of CRPF men in the attack in Anantnag district said it was a fidayeen attack carried out on the directions from across the border.

The Governor has conveyed that his heart goes out to the departed soldiers and their families.

Mr Malik has observed that whenever successful attempts are made by the security forces to either conduct peaceful elections or continuous elimination of militants, their masterminds from across the border order them to carry out fidayeen attacks on the forces and yesterday’s attack in Anantnag district was also a fidayeen attack.
